Claire Griffith Welcome to Cabo

Cabo San Lucas

Cabo! What does it mean to you? Do you think of crystal clear waters, deserts, mountains? Do you smell the salty air, fish on the grill, the fragrant night blooming jasmine? Or, do you do you hear the pounding of the surf, crickets chirping , the wandering, street mariachis? If any or all these things come to mind, you have an idea of what Cabo San Lucas has to offer. Regardless, whether you are looking for a laid-back vacation, a continuous party or a little bit of both, you have picked the best place in Mexico.

Some of the finest fishing in the world can be found in the waters surrounding Los Cabos. Many a record marlin has been hooked here. To the west, you will find the deep, blue Pacific Ocean and to the east, you will encounter the beautiful, warm water of the Sea of Cortez.

If you are not a fisherman, but love the water, Cabo is a great place to parasail, jet ski, body, board or wind surf, snorkel or SCUBA dive. You can charter a boat for sailing or just cruising the coastal waters. We are blessed with an abundance of marine life and during the fall, winter and early spring, you will be able to watch the whales and their babies.

And, for you landlubbers, do not despair, there are numerous activities to keep you occupied. You can zip line, rent horses, dirt bikes or ATVs. We have a wonderful interactive dolphin exhibit and the Mexican Cultural Center will be opened soon. There are shops for every pocket book, from teeshirts to fine art.

Los Cabos Sea LionCabo San Lucas is famous for its beautiful, championship golf courses, designed by such notables as Tom Weiskopf, Jack Nicklaus, Robert Trent Jones II, Pete Dye and Greg Norman. All the courses are either on the water or have magnificent ocean views. The desert terrain will be a challenge, even for scratch golfers. And yes, they are a bit pricey. But, at the end of the day, you will know you have accomplished something.

Los Cabos also has a couple of courses for the intermediate and beginning golfer which are more suited to families and a little less costly.

If you are a foodie, CSL is the place for you. There are restaurants that appeal to all palates and pocket books. Drinking water and ice are safe to drink . All restaurants serve purified water, so don't bother to order bottled water, it's just an added expense.

The Los Cabos area offers accommodations in many forms. Depending on your budget, you will find exclusive hotels, all inclusive resorts, time shares and vacation rentals, which include condominiums and private homes

Without doubt, Cabo San Lucas is one of the safest destinations in Mexico. Our police department, especially in the tourist area, is ever vigilant. While the mainland of Mexico is suffering from drug violence and very bad publicity, the Baja Peninsula has been spared. Most crime consists of petty theft. If you are aware of your surroundings, you will avoid any problems.

The Mexicans are a proud people, warm, gracious and hard working. They are truly interested in your wellbeing and showing you a wonderful time.
If you choose Cabo as your vacation destination, you will not be disappointed!!!
